Returns don’t always start with the customer.
Most return flows assume the customer registers a return, receives a label, and sends the parcel back. But in reality, operations are rarely that clean. Sometimes a return reaches the warehouse before customer service even knows it exists.
With the latest expansion of our Ongoing WMS connector, the warehouse can now become the starting point in the post-purchase flow.
Whether a customer has already registered the return in Inretrn or the warehouse receives an unregistered parcel, Ongoing can process the return and automatically sync the information back into Inretrn. Return orders can be created, matched against the original sales order, and closed without manual reconciliation between systems.
The result is a more complete post-purchase flow, where every return is captured, even the ones that bypass the portal.
What this means:
The 14-day right isn’t a return. Treat it like one and you’ll get it wrong.
Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU, every consumer can withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days, with no reason required. From 19 June 2026, every merchant operating in the EU must give customers a simple, traceable way to do that.
Most teams have it buried in the returns flow or in legal fine print. That breaks the moment a regulator looks closely.
Inretrn now owns the withdrawal process end-to-end, the same way we own returns.
When that happens:
If you ship across borders, you already know the cost of missing or inconsistent harmonization codes and country-of-origin data. We added structured fields at the return order line level so this data flows automatically through every return and every exchange.
When that happens:
What this means:
Small first steps. A bigger shift behind them.
We’ve started a long-term effort to improve the full product experience, across customer-facing flows and back-office operations.
The direction: simpler, more seamless. One product that feels like one product, whether you’re configuring a rule, running an operation, or watching the system handle a return in production.
The first updates land in June. They’re small on their own. But they mark the beginning of something bigger.

One of our most requested connectors is almost here. A direct line between Shopify and Inretrn. More on this next month!
